ONE Northside organizes people from more than 100 member institutions and individual community residents across seven North Side Chicago neighborhoods. Formed through the merger of the Lakeview Action Coalition and the Organization of the Northeast, they carry nearly 60 years of community organizing history. They are a mixed-income, multi-ethnic, intergenerational organization working toward racial, social, and economic justice on Chicago’s North Side.
ONE Northside organizes residents and institutions across seven North Side neighborhoods to build collective power. Their organizing model brings together individuals and more than 100 member institutions to develop grassroots leaders and run campaigns that create real, lasting change.
ONE Northside runs active campaigns across five priority areas: housing justice, community safety, environmental justice, budgets and revenue, and immigration justice. Past wins include the Ban the Box Ordinance (2015), the Empowering Communities for Public Safety Ordinance (2021), and the Green Social Housing Ordinance (2025).
Anchored in eight North Side public schools, the Parent Mentor program trains cohorts of community leaders — primarily parents — to become active voices in their schools and neighborhoods.
ONE Northside operates a Rapid Response network that mobilizes members quickly when immigrant neighbors face urgent threats, providing immediate community support and advocacy.
