The Irish American Heritage Center is one of the largest Irish cultural centers in North America, occupying a 90,000 square foot historic building in Chicago’s Mayfair neighborhood. Founded in 1985 by a group of Irish immigrants who purchased and renovated the former Mayfair College building entirely through volunteer labor, the Center officially opened in 1991 and has grown to over 5,000 members. They host more than 200 events annually, keeping Irish music, dance, language, art, and tradition alive and accessible to all.
The centerpiece of the Center hosts world-class performances, concerts, and cultural events year-round, from traditional Irish music to contemporary theater productions.
